  • Worked with developers to write Operational Requirements Documents for products prior to development at Intuit.

  • Designed and wrote concept description, content outlines for a 12 manual and 4 on- line help text file library for the RAMP product, an IBM System/36 replacement system.

  • Unisys A Series RAMP Migration Utility Guide

  • Hardcopy manual and on-line source document for the 150+ manuals that are shipped with the Unisys A Series product.  This product allowed a user to find the specific manual where information was located for their precise needs. An indexing access system was provided by either product, task, or manual.

  • Reference manual for Rexon Business Machines, Inc. operating system/interpreter. This project was conducted during the development of the OS/interpreter and required close contact with developers to ensure all changes were included, and all changes operated as the developer claimed.

  • Systems utilities manual for Rexon system. The project also required the testing and documentation of the operation of each utility.

  • Reference manual for implementation on Pertec remote data entry system. This included the testing and documentation of the Pascal language subset that was included in the implementation.

  • Supervisor's manuals for two Pertec remote COBOL-based data entry systems.  This included documenting the basic system configuration data, daily system initialization, data entry, and data transmission phases of the equipment.

  • Documentation set for Fujitsu Bank Teller System.  This project included: Reference manual for OS, Configuration and Installation Guide, Operations manual for each system component, and Service Maintenance manual for each component.

  • Systems manual for Fujitsu bank ATM system. This project required the documentation of system diagnostic software and application software, and a complete hard­ware disassembly manual.

  • System and service manuals for Fujitsu point-of-sales terminal and terminal controller.

  • Systems Guide, Operations manual and Programmer/Analyst manual for Fujitsu remote data entry system. This project included the documentation of the system controller, terminals and printers. The manual was for use by OEM customers.

  • Developed customer training programs for TV/COM and for IBM.

MANAGEMENT

 

  • Founded and managed (for 13 years)a successful multifaceted consulting organization that provided clients with market studies, marketing programs, software product development, user and technical manuals in industries such as: computers manufacturing, software portation, industrial security, medical electronics, office technical services, wholesale/retail jewelry,  sailboat manufacturing, and specialty magazines.

  • Created market research function and department for TV/COM.

  • Managed the startup and on-going management of a successful minicomputer value-added reseller organization.

  • Established the largest G.E.C.C. Branch Office west of the Mississippi, while maintaining one of the lowest delinquencies in the Area.

  • Assumed management of the G.E.C.C. Northern California District Collection Office responsible for 33,000 accounts valued at over $10,000,000 after bad management resulted in personnel problems and state and federal fines of over $25,000, and a delinquency rate over three times the company standard. Resolved personnel problems within a month, and cut delinquency percentage by 75% within six months.

  • Managed the installation and operation of the No. Calif. G.E.C.C. Payment Processing Center. Wrote all procedures, hired all personnel, and managed the daily operation until the processing center was tested and running smoothly.

  • Created and implemented marketing strategies and tactics for the introduction of an IBM System/36 replacement/upgrade product with projected revenue of $83.5 million over the first three years.

  • Prepared a business plan for spin off of Fortune 500 product line as a management buyout, which was to receive a $5 million, guaranteed underwriting for a public offering.

  • Managed the successful development of five BASIC-to-C translators, and managed the first migration of application software to Unix System 5.0 under contract to AT&T.

  • Managed the development of $50 million corporate budget, and monitored and evaluated monthly performance.

  • Prepared marketplace evaluation, corporate business plan, and acquisition plan for foreign microcomputer firm entering the U.S. market.

  • Managed Area Collection Office of G.E.C.C., responsible for 33,000 accounts, after personnel problems, caused by former manager, resulted in state and federal fines of over $25,000, and an intolerable delinquency problem. Resolved personnel problems within a month and cut delinquency percentage by 75% within six months.

  • Established G.E.C.C.'s largest branch office west of the Mississippi, while maintaining one of the lowest delinquencies in the Area.

  • Resolved credit management and delinquency problem for IBM's worst branch office. Special assignment was for 2 years -- resolved within 1 year and used less than half the available bad debt reserve.

  • Managed the installation and operation of a financial organization's Payment Processing Center. Wrote all procedures, hired all personnel, and managed the daily operation until the processing center was tested and running smoothly.

  • Wrote a CPA client accounting software package that is used in a number of firms in LA and Orange County.

  • Resolved accounting problems that caused the federal government, and therefore state and county governments, to withhold grant payments to Senior Citizens Action Network (SCAN). Reprocessed two years of daily transactions allocating payments per the contracts with government agencies. SCAN was audited by the federal government thirty days later and grant payments were restarted for all government agencies.

  • Prepared a business plan for spin off of Fortune 500 product line as management buyout which is to receive a $5 million guaranteed underwriting for a public offering.

  • Created new and innovative strategy that turned a company's $2 million a year loss into a $1.5 million profit.

  • Managed the creation, implementation and tracking of a $50 million corporate budget.

  • Medical Clinics - Wrote practice management software for a single physician, and managed the development of a practice management application for clinics and HMOs.  Single practice in written in Apple BASIC, clinic/HMO software written in Thoroughbred BASIC on a Unix Platform.

  • Tax Preparer - Migrated Tax preparation software written in BASIC to the Unix platform as a C application.

  • Property Management Company - Migrated property management software written in BASIC to the Unix platform as a C application.

  • Elevator Manufacturer - Developed a system that permitted the buyer to find the proper component through a menu system rather than searching dozens of manufacturer's product catalogues. Written in Business BASIC on a Rexon minicomputer.

  • Specialized High-Tech Flow Valve Manufacturer - Developed a system that permitted an order entry person to determine whether the company had built a flow valve of similar specification, and to access the order number to find the drawings and component specifications.  Written in Microsoft BASIC on a Vector Graphics (CP/M) system

  • Publishers - Developed indexing program that permitted cross-indexing with a single entry. Written in Business BASIC  on a Xerox 820 (CP/M) system.

  • Employment Agency - Developed computer system that matched job requirements to existing applicant data base.  Written using Informix on an AT&T minicomputer.
